Upgrade Systems and Strengthen Data Protection

We recommend our Customers to Upgrade their Systems and Strengthen Data Protection

LOOMDATA is advising its customers to take critical steps to ensure data integrity, system stability, and security.

VM Backup is not enough

LOOMDATA warns that simply backing up virtual machines is insufficient for full data recovery. Since virtual machine backups do not always include database snapshots, restoring from such backups can lead to corruption and data loss. To prevent this, customers should regularly create separate database backups and store them on a remote physical disk.

Monitor Database Storage to Avoid Production Interruptions

A full database can cause LOOMDATA to malfunction, leading to data loss and even halting production. Customers are strongly encouraged to monitor their database storage levels continuously. LOOMDATA’s alarm server can notify users when the database reaches 80% capacity, enabling timely preventive actions.

End-of-Life for Solaris – Transition to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

After 30 years of reliance on Solaris, LOOMDATA has transitioned its servers to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) due to Solaris’ End-of-Life. Customers are encouraged to migrate to RHEL to maintain security, stability, and long-term support. LOOMDATA will now include RHEL security updates alongside its standard patches to ensure up-to-date system protection against cyber-attacks.
